A few seats are available in the NRI / NRI
sponsored category for the regular programmes being
offered by NIFT. In
accordance with the guidelines specified in the NIFT
Prospectus 2008, NRI
sponsored candidates will be considered for admission,
only after no foreign national / NRI candidate are
available in any particular programme or vacancy due to
NRI applicant not joining the programme. Who had
appeared for the written examination.
The NRI/NRI
sponsored candidates upon admission would be required to
pay a sum of Rs.
3,18,500/- for each academic year of study.
Procedure for applying under NRI Sponsored category
¨
Candidate seeking admission under this
category should apply in the
prescribed application form downloadable from the
NIFT website.
¨
The duly filled in application form
should be sent to Registrar (Admissions), National
Institute of Fashion Technology, NIFT Campus, Hauz Khas,
New Delhi on or before 30th May, 2008 along
with the following documents:
a.
a letter from NRI who is sponsoring
the applicant
b.
attested copies of relevant pages of Passport and Bank
statements showing sufficient funds of the sponsoring
authority
c.
Demand Draft of Rs.3000/- in favour of NIFT New Delhi
payable at
New Delhi
Procedure to be adopted for allocation of seats
available under NRI sponsored quota to the candidates
who are willing to seek admission in this category would
be as under: -
1.
First preference will be given on remaining seats to the
candidates (desirous of seeking admission’s under NRI
category) who had qualified the NIFT entrance
examination and are placed in the waiting list during
the counselling session.
Secondly
the seats will be offered to the candidate who have
completed the entire admission process and these
candidates will not be asked to appear in the interview.
They will be allocated seats on basis of their
Waitlist Rank in the admission process.
Still if there are seats available the same will be offered to the
candidates who have applied in response to our
advertisement. The
admission of these applicants will be based on their
performance in a skill test and personal interview.
