STUDENT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY |

Student development program at all NIFT centers is initiated to encourage NIFT students to participate in physical, academic & artistic pursuit to round out their education at NIFT campus. Participation in these activities would complement and facilitate their academic studies while providing ways to socialize, relax, have fun and be revitalized, to face the day to day challenges. |
|
Student Development Activity at New Delhi conducts an extensive schedule of events organized by the NIFT students for NIFT students. The activities of the clubs include inter-department and inter-college competitions, social events, seminars, guest lectures, film nights and others. |

| CULTURAL CLUB |
| |
The Cultural Club promotes an understanding and appreciation of past and present cultures amongst students. It serves to ensure the all-round development of students through exposure, participation and appreciation of arts, music, dance, films and theatre. |

| LITERARY CLUB |
| |
The Literary Club is dedicated to students sharing literary interests. The purpose of this club is to offer a relaxing and intellectual platform for students to exchange ideas, emotions and theories on select readings through creative writing, debating and quizzing. |

| SPORTS, ADVENTURE & PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB |
| |
The Sports, Adventure and Photography Club aims at proactively promoting sports at NIFT. Sports and adventure are essential activities for providing relaxation and ensuring good health among students, and also promoting team spirit. Students are encouraged to play outdoor sports such as volleyball, basketball etc. and indoor games like carom, chess and table tennis. The adventure club activities include trekking, paragliding, mountain biking, etc. The Photography Club introduces and develops the photography skills of students. |

| ENVIRONMENT & SOCIAL SERVICE CLUB |
| |
The Environment and Social Service Club serves to develop in students an appreciation for the natural and man-made environments, engaging them in activities concerning preservation and conservation. Activities include camps and excursions to wildlife sanctuaries and areas of natural beauty. The Social Service Club deals with causes and issues catering to better community living and caring for the underprivileged. |

| STUDENT EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMME |
| |
National Institute Of Fashion technology offers a variety of part-time employment opportunities to its students and recognizes that student employment is a valuable form of financial assistance as well as a practical learning experience. |
|
Student Employment Program of NIFT is designed to aid students who have demonstrated financial need. SDAC of each NIFT centre invites applications from students to engage them in resource Centre, laboratory, CE programmes and workshops. Student Development Activity Co-ordinator along with the employer department determines a student’s eligibility for this program.

| SDAC under SEP offers two programes Campus Job program & Off-campus opportunities; |

Any opening related to employment will be intimated time to time by Student Development Activity co-ordinator. Interested student may collect the prescribed form from student development Co-ordinator- Delhi centre. |
Student will be given certificate at the successful completion of the employment. |

| STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME |
| |
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a premier educational institution, known for its expertise in the world of fashion. NIFT is approached by many NGOs for seeking consultancy. |
| |
Thus with the inception of SAG, a formal students’ body is created to facilitate proactive interaction between students of NIFT and the various NGOs. The student group, to be known as Student Assistance Group (SAG) is formed to translate Nift vision of “Concern for Social and human value” into a workable proposition. And also, to increase interaction among the student community of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) by forming Student Assistance Group (SAG) under Student development Activity (SDAC) |

However, as the processes at SAG are streamlined, the students of NIFT would be encouraged to take up projects with the various NGO’s. This would finally ensure an environment conducive for proactive interaction between students of NIFT and NGOs. |

| STUDENT MENTOR PROGRAMME |
| |
The main objective of putting faculty mentor system is to create a mechanism whereby the students are able to discuss their problems with the mentors at a mutually convenient time. |
| |
Mentoring system helps students in getting over minor problems which if not dealt with at a proper time may lead to serious problems in the future. |
| |
Mentor programme could involve your personnel problems, academic problems or anything else you would like to share. |
| |
Centre co-coordinator of your department will give you the mentor list. You can meet your mentor at a fixed or convenient time. |

FASHION SPECTRUM |
| |
The Fashion Spectrum is conducted at all NIFT centres, and is a confluence of academic and co-curricular activities. The event serves as a platform for the industry, NIFT students and other colleges of repute come together and participate in a variety of programmes – cultural evenings, educational workshops, exhibitions and inter-college competitions. |
